If you're considering IV ketamine treatment, I don't think you could find more empathetic and caring people. I have CPTSD and have been struggling with it my whole life. Traditional modalities (therapy/CBT) have been helpful, but they have never managed to make a dent in the more debilitating effects of CPTSD (flashbacks, suicidal ideation, dissociation, nightmares, etc). In 2023, I started researching ketamine as a possible treatment. I was very skeptical at first, since the use of ketamine for mental health is off-label (i.e., not approved by the FDA for this specific use case). However, given the severity of my symptoms and reaching "the end of the road" on more traditional treatments, I decided to give it a go. As a patient, the world of ketamine treatment is a little bit like the wild west: the number of providers have exploded in the past five years, and most of them will promise you remission (some will also get mighty close to telling you it's a cure). Likewise, there are many ways to administer ketamine (IV, intra-muscular, sublingual (under tongue) and intra-nasal (nose spray)). All of this makes choosing a provider a really confusing and hard task, particularly if you're already struggling with a condition that involves anxiety, depression or severe pain. What convinced me to go with TKC was that they really take their responsibilities seriously. They won't tell you that this is a cure-all, or that this should be available to everyone. They carefully make sure that this is right for you, customize your treatment to make sure you get the best results and monitor that the treatment is working for you. The staff itself is outstanding and genuinely cares about you as a person. I have been in treatment for five months, and have been lucky to see a significant improvement in my severe symptoms. Life with CPTSD is still no picnic, but I have achieved more relief in those five months than I have in years of therapy. My experience has been that ketamine has helped me get more traction in life, versus being "knocked" out by my symptoms for days/weeks.
