My husband is a disabled veteran with every issue imaginable-chronic pain, ptsd, intrusive thoughts, extreme anxiety and social anxiety, depression and psychogenic non epileptic seizures caused by anxiety. We lived in Iowa when we first learned about ketamine treatments. His first treatment required 5 straight days of 4 hour infusions. The outcome was life changing! Pain gone, ptsd gone, anxiety so much better, depression gone and no more seizures! He had one more booster in Iowa before moving to Florida which was another 4 hours in a room. Oh and we had to travel 4 hours one way to get the infusions. Once moving to Florida we searched for clinics and found one in Sarasota that we went to so he could continue his boosters. The cost of the boosters was triple what we paid in Iowa of course. But he had to have them!! So he had 3 additional boosters at the new place. 4 hours in a room being checked on and monitored. Each treatment the effects wore off quicker and quicker. The last booster did absolutely nothing! He walked out of the treatment still in pain. We were devastated! We didn’t want to go back to seizures and monthly ER visits! We then found Dr Grass and all I can say is it is a huge difference!! He knows his stuff and explains how his system works different from others. Yes you have to do blood tests and dna tests but that is because those things contribute to how you process the ketamine. This was why my husband was metabolizing the other ketamine treatments at a faster rate. And we found out he had a gene mutation that caused his depression to be worse than others. And the cost of the treatments has been constant with the costs we have seen at other clinics. The difference…. The infusions are not 4 hours-40 minutes, you end up with double the dosage AND he sits in the room with the patient the whole time! We would recommend Dr Grass to anyone considering a ketamine treatment. Our only wish is that the VA would recommend this as a needed treatment for their Veterans. But Dr Grass gives a veteran discount unlike the other clinics!
