When I first came to this clinic last year, the doctor was wonderful and the administering nurse, Mary, was kind and sweet — she gave me lots of space to enjoy the experience. However, sadly, Dr. Brooks retired and a new doctor took over. This doctor has not reached out in any way shape or form. I have never even seen a photo of him. And Mary is no longer there. The new staff have made my experiences there less than pleasant. They got the date of my last treatment wrong. The person taking my blood pressure walked out of the room right after activating the BP device and didn’t come back until the reading had faded from the screen. I had to tell him the reading, and this happened THREE TIMES. Then while I was still in a very altered state, someone opened the door and tried to communicate something to me with a hand signal, disrupting my experience and totally confusing me. Then when the hour was up, and I was still in an altered state, the nurses kept asking me about the follow up protocol. I told them no one had ever asked me about that before and that I was confused. They left me alone for a few minutes, then came back, saying they had checked my chart, and they knew what to do now. The BP mishandling was unprofessional and undermined my trust. The door opening and strange hand signal while I was still in the experience was genuinely disorienting. Being questioned about protocol while still cognitively altered gave me the sense that I was not being cared for, just managed — by people who did not understand what they were doing. My nervous system was open, my psyche in a vulnerable state, and instead of safety and nurturing, I experienced detachment, disruption, and confusion. I will not go back there again.
