I had had several instances when I needed help during an infusion and couldn't get anyone's attention. I made the suggestion of getting call buttons for each room to the office Mgr. and physician and I was told they would think about my idea. After 2 months they did come up with some kind of button. Great I thought! But today when I tried to use it the signal didn't get anyone to come to my room. I pushed it at least 6 times and no response. I couldn't believe this was happening! Finally I waited until I could see people walking by my door and through the button at the door. Well they heard that! But unfortunately the doctor made some excuse about the monitor being turned too low or not facing the right way so they didn't hear me signaling for help in my room. Then he actually suggested that I should make sure the monitor (which is behind a work station area patients are not allowed to go in) was working and turned up each time I come in. Wow! Maybe he and his staff of highly qualified medical professionals should do their jobs so I can be the patient. He also said my bad experience could have been because I wasn't in a "good mood" when I arrived. As it happens, I was in a perfectly good mood today. I had been working in my yard all morning and looking forward to getting my treatment today. Overall I'm not sure if my confidence can be restored in this treatment center. But I'm not the type to give up so I know deep down inside I will probably stick with them. Mostly because when done right the ketamine treatments have really made a difference in my life.
