Ketamine Infusion Center — Ketamine Clinic in Metairie, LA

Dr. Ball and his staff at this facility are phenomenal. They’ve gotten me through the worst year of my life. Dr. Ball is attentive, compassionate and he genuinely cares about his patients health. I feel blessed to know him and his nurses. I couldn’t recommend him enough for anyone seeking out ketamine treatment for mental health or for treatment of painful nerve conditions.

Unfortunately, the experience I had of Dr. Ball's office is not one that I would not recommend to others. I had three sessions at Dr. Ball's office. Before my first sessions I reached out to the office recommended counselor about including integration into my treatment. The counselor never responded. Meeting Dr. Ball he seemed enthusiastic about his work and said that he would reach out about the counselor not responding. My first session I was given Propofol. The medication is given in combination with the ketamine is to tone down the “ trippiness”. This was the first time I had received propofol having come from another ketamine clinic outside the state. I understand I was given the medication to see what type of patient I was but unfortunately the drug hindered my experience. I expressed this to the nurse and her response was “maybe you need actual therapy”. This comment was completely out of line and being that I work in the mental health field and I am more qualified to make that decision than she is. Also, is ketamine not therapy? I asked if I would be able to speak to the doctor. The nurse told me “no, the the doctor does not speak to patients under the influence.” She went on to say a few more things I didn't quite pick up on and I asked her to repeat herself. She cocked her head and gave me a “ I told you this is why we don't speak to patients under the influence look.” My message was simple. I did not want propofol in my next session. After some patient shaming and back and forth with the nurse we did manage to come to an understanding. My second session was wonderful and so was my nurse who was different from my first session. She was very committed to my session and my journey. She made every effort to make me comfortable and meet any requests I made. No Propofol this time. My third session was another disappointment. During ketamine therapy the dosage is increased each time, but Dr. Ball did not do this. I had difficulty getting comfortable, the playlist I had chosen wasn't working out. I finally got comfortable and found a playlist that worked for me but unfortunately the ketamine kept dudding out during my experience because the dosage was wrong. I started to become frustrated and expressed it to my nurse. She blew off the emotions as something that I needed to express through ketamine. I went to reach out to my nurse a second time and to tell her to end the session, that things weren't working out, but as I was doing so the session ended. I again explained to the same nurse that had patient shamed me before that I was frustrated at the experience. She blamed me and said I should have listened through my playlist previously before coming in and that's why I was frustrated. I responded that I had chosen the playlist the night before. Two out of three experiences with this clinic, the dosage was incorrect and I was patient shamed by the same nurse several times when I was emotionally vulnerable. Dr. Ball said that he would follow up after my third session but never did. I doubt he even followed up with the integration counselor about not responding. The nurse that patient shamed me does not have the compassion to be working in mental health. This may be confusing to other clients because she makes off color comments in a very calming voice and manner. I left the clinic feeling that it was not a safe place to be emotionally vulnerable. I regret spending $1500 there considering the poor treatment I received. There are other ketamine clinics in the New Orleans area and options to do ketamine at home. I suggest that you explore those options.

Dr. Ball and his team have treated me with respect and compassion. The therapy has changed my life for the better. I felt some relief of my symptoms after the first session!

Don’t expect them to call you back. They just take your $100 to talk for 10 minutes and do nothing!!! Poor patient care.

This has been one of the best decisions of my life. I got into a dark place for some unknown reason and just could not stop crying for days and weeks on end. A friend had researched ketamine and suggested it to me. Dr Ball has impeccable credentials and the staff is wonderfully caring. The initial treatment plan is six infusions over two weeks. After the second session, I felt like myself again. The protocol after the six is to follow up every month or six weeks for maintenance. I look forward to these sessions because I feel like it balances out my mood and sense of self. But the clinic did say that I could come back whenever I felt I needed to, they were always there. Two months after my initial regimen, I got diagnosed with a reoccurrence of bone cancer which really did a number on my pain levels and mood. I upped my treatments to once a week for a few weeks just to get over the initial shock and dismay of my diagnosis. The clinic has always been able to work with my schedule. I feel like they care about me as a person and consider them a large part of my care team. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering trying the therapy. The good news is that is doesn’t hurt to try. The better news is it can literally change your life!

Ketamine Infusion Center has improved my quality of life. It has helped the peripheral neuropathy in my feet and has helped address my treatment resistant depression. Making appointments is easy...they are very flexible and work around my schedule. Dr. Ball always takes time to talk with me before each treatment and is super knowledgeable The nurses that work there are wonderful. They always make me feel comfortable, relaxed and safe. The facility is state of the art... very clean and homey. I recommend this place without reservation.

Dr. Ball and his entire staff are compassionate and patient-focused. The ketamine feels like a miracle treatment for intractable depression. It’s also nice that Dr. Ball offers wellness infusions to boost immunity, NAD+, and other options in conjunction with ketamine or as stand-alone remedies without ketamine.

I have chronic pain and this is the only thing I've found that helps. Every single member of the staff are absolutely amazing, though I do have a make a shout out to Mario! You're listened to, not judged, and Individualized treatment plans are a part of every single appointment. Dr. Ball is an amazing doctor.

Positively transformative. As a decades long sufferer of chronic pain and depression, I was tired of taking meds that didn’t work or required higher dosages over time — not to mention the negative side effects that came with them. My ketamine sessions have substantially improved my mental health and are helping to alleviate some of my pain. Dr. Ball and his staff are ultimate medical professionals with the knowledge and experience that comes with their respective life long careers in medicine. They are truly dedicated to improving the lives of their patients and providing first class care with compassion and dignity.
