Virginia Ketamine Therapy — Ketamine Clinic in Williamsburg, VA

Started treatment here about six months ago because it was way more convenient of a location than my previous clinic in Norfolk (treatment via ketamine infusion for treatment-resistant depression and bipolar II). Everything started out okay, but quickly turned sour. The doctor was continually dismissive of any concerns I had, and any issues that we addressed to the office staff regarding billing or other issues the clinic took personally and responded rudely in turn. The final straw of me ending my treatment here? Dr. Newman himself calling my mother, who was helping me with an insurance claim issue, on a topic that he should have had no involvement in. Dr. Newman proceeded to yell, scream, and demean my mother to the point of her shaking and crying (and my mother is not a weak individual I assure you). She said that she had never been spoken to by ANYONE like that, let alone a doctor. Dr. Newman has no empathy for anyone, let alone his patients or their advocates, and frankly should not be a practicing doctor any longer. *Please note: TPMG as a whole is a great medical practice and I see other doctors in the practice and have never had any issues. This particular clinic and Dr. Newman are an unfortunate and disgusting stain on TPMG's reputation and I hope that the higher-up's of the practice take action before Dr. Newman causes permanent damage, mentally or physically, to one of his patients. tl;dr: Do NOT go here under any circumstances.

Ketamine is very cheap and it should not cost the patient thousands of dollars because “there is no code for it on the insurance paperwork” like this Dr. Newman stated. I tried this for the recommended treatment plan for my CRPS. But other than feeling like I was hallucinating on LSD it did nothing to help my condition. Ketamine infusions used to help people with CRPS when it was done in an IV consecutively for five days on the patient was in a coma. But I unfortunately Dr. Schwartzman passed away and I guess there are no other doctors who really care about us in the pain community. It saddens me that doctors will drain your bank account and act like they are doing you a favor. But the sick people are always so desperate. I feel like the postive comments were friends of this doctor and or they got something in return. Buyer beware and get well on your own!

My husband has been with Dr. Newman since 2018. The ketamine therapy had been and is an answer to our prayers. He has complex regional pain syndrome. The infusions have enhanced the quality of his life. Dr. Newman is not responsible for the high cost of ketamine. Given today's market, his prices are fair. We have found that the infusions are not always effective from the beginning of therapy but with patience and perseverance, if continued, they can be life changing. We are pleased with the care and professionalism displayed by the staff. We have found Dr. Newman to be a doctor par excellent! Please reconsider any negative reviews and give him a chance. Your health will thank you later. 😊

Insurance will not cover ketamine therapy. Understandable. But for the consultation to be 350$ and then 400$ each day Monday through Friday is absolutely ridiculous. Most people looking for such treatment don’t have the ability to pay such ridiculous prices.

Did this about two years ago at the suggestion of my psychiatrist. I had been unsuccessful with most antidepressants. He thought it was worth a shot and offered a last bit of hope that I could put this behind me. I have to say that I should have known there was no magic bullet that "would change my life". To my disappointment this treatment had no affect on my life other than to leave me about $4,000 poorer including transportation and lost wages. The first couple days were "fun". The drug put me in a dream state while I listened to my favorite music. It was an interesting experience, but the glow wore off quite quickly. I've seen other people report similar results. Maybe a longer term, more intensive treatment might have worked better. I wouldn't write it off completely, but it didn't work for me. I was also disappointed that there was so little science being done. No followup or evaluation. Only a request to leave a review, which is what I am doing.

Dr. Newman and his staff (Christina) are the best. They are changing my life. Kind, caring, patient, and won't stop til they solve your issue(s). Heck, After I leave I miss hanging out with them.

Dr. Newman and his staff are some of the kindest people I have met in the medical field. I have been to many doctors, specialists and pain management offices where I was made to feel small, unimportant and unheard. It's quite the opposite here. Dr. Newman is knowledgeable, compassionate and straightforward. He is determined when it comes to helping his patients find ways to lead a life with less pain. Ketamine therapy has made me feel like myself for the first time in years. I couldn't be more thankful to have found this office.

Ketamine is like a miracle drug for depression, and the team is excellent.
